दावोस में #WEF2025 के दौरान मेरी मुलाकात Water.org के सीईओ और सह-संस्थापक श्री गैरी व्हाइट से हुई। उनके साथ जल सुरक्षा और स्वच्छता को लेकर एक अत्यंत सार्थक चर्चा हुई। Water.org ने वैश्विक स्तर पर लाखों लोगों को सुरक्षित जल और स्वच्छता की सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने में अहम भूमिका निभाई है। उनकी यह प्रतिबद्धता जल शक्ति मंत्रालय के “सबके लिए जल सुरक्षा और स्वच्छता” के उद्देश्य के साथ गहराई से जुड़ी हुई है।
हमारी चर्चा में जल आपूर्ति और स्वच्छता के लिए प्रभावी वित्तीय मॉडल, स्थानीय समुदायों के सशक्तिकरण और वित्तीय संस्थानों के साथ साझेदारी को मजबूत करने जैसे व्यावहारिक समाधानों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया। खासकर, भारत में Water.org द्वारा जल और स्वच्छता के लिए माइक्रोफाइनेंस का समर्थन, स्वच्छ भारत मिशन जैसे प्रयासों को सशक्त करने में सहायक रहा है।
श्री गैरी व्हाइट के नेतृत्व में Water.org अब तक 7 करोड़ 30 लाख से अधिक लोगों तक सुरक्षित जल और स्वच्छता की सुविधाएं पहुंचाने में सफल रहा है। यह उल्लेखनीय योगदान जमीनी स्तर पर सकारात्मक परिवर्तन लाने का प्रमाण है।
मैं Water.org के अनुभव और विशेषज्ञता को भारत के जल सुरक्षा और सतत विकास के लक्ष्यों में शामिल करने के लिए आशान्वित हूं। यह साझेदारी जल और स्वच्छता के क्षेत्र में नए कीर्तिमान स्थापित करेगी।
During the World Economic Forum in Davos, I had a meaningful discussion with Mr. Gary White, CEO and Co-Founder of Water.org. This globally renowned non-profit organization has played a pivotal role in providing access to safe water and sanitation to millions of people worldwide. Their mission aligns closely with the vision of the Ministry of Jal Shakti to ensure “Water Security and Sanitation for All.”
Our conversation focused on practical solutions, including effective financial models for water supply and sanitation, empowering local communities, and strengthening partnerships with financial institutions. Notably, Water.org’s efforts in supporting microfinance for water and sanitation in India have significantly contributed to initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Gary White, Water.org has reached over 73 million people with safe water and sanitation solutions. This exceptional commitment is a testament to their impact at the grassroots level, resonating deeply with the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s objectives.
I am optimistic about leveraging Water.org’s expertise and experience to achieve India’s goals for water security and sustainable development. This partnership holds great promise for setting new benchmarks in the water and sanitation sector.
