आज WII कैंपस में गंगा बेसिन में जैव-विविधता संरक्षण पर केंद्रित चार महत्वपूर्ण पुस्तक-“Population Status and Action Plan for Critically Endangered Gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) in the Ganga River Basin”
“Millets For Life”,
“Conservation”, “reintroduction and rehabilitation of threatened turtles along Ganga basin in Uttar Pradesh”
एवं “Advancing rescue system for the protection of stranded Ganges river dolphins” का विमोचन किया ।
इस दौरान नमामि गंगे के तहत बॉम्बे नैचुरल हिस्ट्री सोसायटी-BNHS के साथ इंडियन स्किमर कंजर्वेशन प्रोजेक्ट का शुभारंभ भी किया । संकटग्रस्त इंडियन स्किमर की वैश्विक आबादी 3,000 से कम है, और इसकी 90% से अधिक प्रजनन योग्य आबादी भारत में पाई जाती है। चंबल सहित अन्य नदियों में इस परियोजना का विस्तार, नदी-तंत्र की जैव-विविधता को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में यह एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
